When I cared for my late husband, he was constantly in and out of the hospital. I joked we spent more holidays in the hospital than out. One day he called me after calling 911 and said he was heading into the hospital, which was normal. I was with my mother helping with my father's passing when I received the call. I told him I would be on my way in a few minutes. Long short, he coded during the night, and I was asked to make an impossible decision whether to instate a Do not resituate order by the doctor. I didn't know what to do, I called our doctor. HE told me, "Sometimes God needs CPR to do a Miracle." I chose to not sign the order. Unfortunately he died.
